There’s not likely to be a better bargin this summer then the triple bill of Bob Dylan, Wilco and My Morning Jacket. The aging folk legend has certainly seen better days, but with two accomplished, contemporary groups in tow, the AmericanaramA tour will offer enough enough bang for your buck that you should be able to overlook Dylan’s raspy growl. The caravan rolls through Chicago on July 12 and may be the only hometown Wilco show of the year.

One of the big summer tours that was announced this week is the AmericanaramA tour, which will feature sets each night from Bob Dylan, Wilco and My Morning Jacket.
This awesome-sounding tour will stop by the L.A. area on August 3rd at Verizon Wireless Amphitheatre in Irvine. Opening the show will be the great Richard Thompson and his band, which will be great.
Tickets for the Irvine show are on sale this Saturday, April 27th via LiveNation.

In order to promote his upcoming solo debut Regions of Light and Sound of God, My Morning Jacket front man Jim James scheduled a gig at the Fonda Theatre on May 11th.
Tickets for this special gig go on sale via Ticketmaster this Saturday 2/2 and cost $37.70 after fees. Don’t miss out – so far, James’ solo album sounds pretty eclectic, and it’d undoubtedly make for a pretty sweet live show.
Regions of Light and Sound of God is due out on February 5th.

After six studio albums and nearly two decades of work as the lead singer and songwriter for roots psych band My Morning Jacket, Jim James (aka Yim Yames) is stepping out and releasing his first solo album. The record, Regions of Light and Sound of God, will be available via ATO Records, The Daves Matthews founded label will eb releasing it on February 5th. To coincide with the special release, James will be playing a trio of shows February 18th-20th in Philadelphia, Brooklyn and New York City. This round of shows will be the first time James will be playing without the rest of his bandmates in My Morning Jacket. He plays his very first at Johnny Brenda’s. If you didn’t act quick, you’re out of lucky as the concert is already sold out! So good luck hunting down tickets on Stubhub and Craigslist. It’s also pretty safe to assume that Jim James will be announcing some sort of a nationwide tour at some point this year so you can always wait for that as well.
