March will be a big month for musician Kate Nash. Not only does she release her long awaited LP titled ‘Girl Talk’ (as mxdwn reported, it was available for pre-order in November) March 6, but she also begins her tour March 12. In addition to musical achievements, Nash is also joining forces with the ‘Because I am a Girl’ charity, which aims to help girls in developing countries.

The Austin-based music festival Fun Fun Fun Fest may have just announced their best lineup yet. Last year’s festival boasted the impressive array of Slayer, Passion Pit and Public Enemy, this year’s bill tops out with the reunited Run-D.M.C., Santigold, Refused, Public Image LTD and a whole slew more. Festival season is in full swing! San Francisco’s Treasure Island Music Festival has just announced it’s 2012 lineup, and as usual, it’s a great collection of dance and indie talent. Day one, held on Saturday October 13th, features headliners Girl Talk and The Presets, along with other greats Public Enemy, SBTRKT, Toro y Moi, Grimes and The Coup. Day two, held on Sunday October 14th on the other hand, features the first U.S. festival headlining spot for England’s The xx. They’re backed up by M83, Gossip, Best Coast, Divine Fits (new band featuring Britt Daniel of Spoon), Hospitality and Imperial Teen (featuring Roddy Bottum of Faith No More). Musicfest NW just announced its 2012 lineup for this year’s music festival. The lineup lists more than 80 bands that come from indie, hip-hop, punk, and more musical backgrounds. Musicfest NW will be in Portland, Oregon this year from September 5th through September 9th, 2012.

The Indie music festival LouFest has announced its 2012 lineup. The festival will take place in Forest Park, St. Louis on August 25th and 26th. After not appearing at all in 2010, the Popped! Music Festival will be triumphantly returning to Philadelphia for 2011 on September 23-24. It will host musical acts including Girl Talk, Pretty Lights, Cage The Elephant and a variety of more. The Popped! Music Festival has been around since 2007.
