The Magician

The Magician, AKA Stephen Fasano (formerly of Aeroplane) is an 80’s influenced electronic DJ and producer hailing from Belgum. He started recording radio shows and creating mix tapes in the late 80’s and immediately started DJing for friends and private parties when he got his first two turntables.

In 2011, he released his debut single I Don’t Know What To Do via French label Kitsune Records, as well as a popular remix of Lykke Li’s I Follow Rivers the same year. He has collaborated on three wicked EPs with French producer and DJ Yuksek: Memory, Twist, and On The Brain. Perhaps one of his most popular (and more recent) remixes, was his twist on Clean Bandit’s international hit Rather Be.

The Magician signed to Warner Records/Parlophone at the tail end of 2013, and released popular ear worms Sunlight (featuring Years & Years) and When the Night is Over.

What better way to kick off your Halloween festivities than check out one of the hottest DJs emerge out of Europe in recent years? Check it out!

College

College is French EDM producer David Grellier, and he happens to be coming to San Francisco in December. He launched his blog, record label, and artist collective Valerie (which includes Minitel Rose, Anoraak, and Outrunners, among others) in 2007, and the following year, he released his debut album Secret Diary as well as his Teenage Color EP. David’s next EP A Real Hero, features his groundbreaking track by the same name which was used in 2011 film Drive; College actually collaborated with Canadian duo Electric Youth for this track. The same year, College released sophomore album Northern Council. College’s sound is more on the electropop side of the EDM scale, with a strong 80’s flare, somewhat evocative of 808 State, Van She, and PACIFIC! College’s most recent album, Heritage, was released March 2013.

Influences include Aphex Twin, Alan Braxe, Daft Punk, and Jeff Mills, and David has also performed under stage name Mitch Silver in French electroclash group Sexy Sushi.

Get your tickets while you can- Rickshaw Stop is an intimate venue, so tickets will sell out fast!

Kygo & Anna Lunoe

Kygo is a Norwegian house producer who started creating music as a teen, although he had also started playing piano at age six. He is known for his remixes of popular songs of various genres, including Coldplay’s track Midnight, Marvin Gaye’s track Sexual Healing, Ellie Goulding’s track High for This, M83’s track Wait, and Dolly Parton’s track Jolene, in addition to his currently most popular remix of Ed Sheeran’s track I See Fire.

Australian producer and DJ Anna Lunoe started creating mix tapes at the age of five, while also being frequently exposeded to live music via performances by her brothers and father, all of whom were musicians. Lunoe also had an underground dance radio show before DJing and eventually producing material herself.

Both of these artists embarked on their musical journeys at a young age- this show will be a fantastic chance to see what that passion can produce on the dance floor.
