Fugazi’s “Waiting Room” is a classic post-punk anthem that has inspired hundreds of thousands of listeners to get involved with music and follow the DIY punk rock ethic—an aspect that may have led to TV on the Radio’s cover of the song at this year’s recently wrapped Pitchfork music festival. Sit Down, Man, the second mixtape from Brooklyn-based hip-hop group Das Racist, is ironic and entertaining. Their style is lazy and the nonchalance in the vocals imply indifference about the content of the music. Many of the songs depict their first-hand experiences with stereotypes as minorities, pop culture references, and an annoyance with the status quo, which is all somehow delivered rather hilariously.
