Jurassic 5 Begin Summer 2013 European Tour Dates

Preservation Hall Jazz Band to be Joined by Morning Jacket, Mos Def, Blind Boys of Alabama and More

The Preservation Hall Jazz Band has announced their special guests whom will join the famous jazz band during their 50th anniversary performance.  Set for Jan. 7 at Carnegie Hall; My Morning Jacket, Del McCoury Band, Trombone Shorty, GIVERS, Allen Toussaint, Blind Boys of Alabama, Tao Seeger, and Mos Def will share the Perelman Stage with the New Orleans jazz band.

Listen: Sharon Van Etten’s Single Serpents

Bjork to Headline Roskilde Festival 2012

Though marred by poor weather and a tragic  death at the Roskilde Festival this past Summer, the Roskilde Foundation will host their annual festival in 2012.  Now that they have begun to book and announce the acts for this upcoming festival, Roskilde announced their addition today , the Icelandic phenomena Björk will headline for 2012.

Doomtree Announce Initial Leg of No Kings Tour Dates

Flight of the Conchords Consider Making a Movie

Almost two years since Kiwi comedic music duo Flight of the Conchords announced they won’t return to HBO for a third season of their short lived show, news of a potential movie has begun to surface.  While speaking with Totalfilms.com about The Muppets movie, Bert McKenzie stated that plans for a movie are in the works.

Third Man Records Releases Winter Vinyl Bounty

Jack White’s Third Man Records is at it again, bringing a bounty of vinyl to a virtually digital world.  Heralding in the end of the year is quite an enormous release for the independent record label including a two-sided vinyl of Edgar Olivier reciting poetry, two singles from John C. Reilly featuring Jack White, Olivia Jean, and Fats Kaplin.

The Doors Announce 40th Anniversary Reissue of L.A. Woman For January 2012 Release

In anticipation for the 40th anniversary of L.A. Woman, the final album which Jim Morrison recorded with The Doors before his death, Rhino in conjunction with Eagle Rock Entertainment are releasing quite a treat for any fan of the old blues band.  Releasing next year will be a 2-CD anniversary edition of the 1971 album, a behind-the-scenes DVD with new interviews from the surviving Doors members, and a three sided vinyl LP of L.A. Woman.
