Vans Warped Tour is a huge summer tour, usually consisting of about 50 bands, multiple stages and vendors of all sorts. The tour goes on for months and visits nearly all the major cities in the U.S., the lineup varying sometimes depending on the city. The Dallas stop was one of the first stops on the 2014 tour and it went off without a hitch. The day was sunny and hot but spirits were high as the doors opened. There were five stages plus an Acoustic Underground tent. Most noteworthy was a stand for free water, which was highly appreciated, and even a waterslide. The following is a small glimpse of the Dallas Warped Tour.

About a year ago, the city of Plano teamed up with Live Nation to brainstorm a new festival to hit North Texas. The main objective of this festival was to have a wide demographic, and not a specific niche. South By So What?! is a yearly festival held in the spring at the QuikTrip Park in Grand Prairie, TX. The festival continuously keeps on growing from year to year, currently it is going 7 years strong. Overall, there is a broad mixture of bands that come to this festival from rock to pop and even metalcore. The venue itself has three stages, two main stages and a smaller side stage, all three are well set up and give the concert goers a lot of room to move around and doesn’t let the sound of each band over power the other. This year they changed the set up and made the festival from one day to three, with over 150 bands. This includes a mix of local bands, up and coming artists and, of course, headliners to end the day with a bang.

January 21st, 2013

Lights All Night is an end of the year, three night electronic music festival that takes place at Fair Park in Dallas, Texas.  The event itself pulls in thousands of raging fans to its doorstep every year, with it a line up of artists that is truly amazing and highly talented. LAN 2012 was no different, the festival brought in thousands of fans, and some amazing artist for each day. The event itself had four venues where the artists performed. There was the Main stage, which was an open stage covered by a tent. Then there was The Hanger, which was a closed building with a stage and many stalls of vendors selling glow sticks, glasses etc. The other venues were much smaller and both outdoors with a small stage for the artists – those were Club @ LAN and the Fountain stage.
