Dropkick Murphys @ The Skyline Stage at The Mann Center – 8/21

May 8th, 2013

dropkickmurphys

After already playing two sold out shows at the Electric Factory earlier in March, Dropkick Murphy’s are set to return to Philadelphia this August. Last week the celtic-punk rockers announced dates for their summer tour which include a stop at The Mann Center’s new Skyline Stage on August 21st. Dropkick Murphys are touring behind their latest album Signed and Sealed in Blood. The group has also been making headlines with their hardworking and impressive charity efforts for victims of the Boston Marathon bombing. They have raised tens of thousands of dollars through selling special t shirts, where all of the money goes directly towards donations. Recently it was also announced that they will be linking up with Bruce Springsteen on a single that will be sold to raise money for the victims. And if that wasn’t enough, $1 from each ticket sold on their upcoming summer tour will also go towards the victims as well.

Lady Lamb the Beekeeper @ World Cafe Live 5/12

May 4th, 2013

LadyLambTheBeekeeper

23 year old Brooklyn based Aly Spaltro aka Lady Lamb the Beekeeper recently released her latest, Ripley Pine, earlier this year. The album came out via Ba Da Bing Records and has been well received through fans and critics alike. The Boston Herald went as far as to call it “an indie rock Pet Sounds“. The album breathes wildly as each of the songs move from a still calm to franticness. Spaltro shines lyrically within the complexity of the song movements. In a few days, Lady Lamb will be hitting the road with fellow label mate Xenia Rubinos for a brief tour through the Mid Atlantic and Midwest. On May 12th they stop by World Cafe Live on the edge of West Philly.
