ORESKABAND on Warped Tour

What isn’t to like about six 19-year old Japanese girls rocking in ska band? Nothing apparently as the sextet continue to gain new fans with every stop on the Vans Warped Tour this summer.

ORESKABAND is promoting their latest self-titled album, as well as their debut musical movie Lock and Roll Forever. When the tour is finished, the group will continue to work on another album for U.S. release. Besides, one of them has a PINK trombone.

Initial Lineup Leak for Lollapalooza

A local Wisconsin paper was the first to leak the initial lineup of Lollapalooza, officially set to hit the wire tomorrow. The festivial happens in Chicago from August 3rd-5th.

Details on Maroon 5’s Sophmore Album

March 13th, 2007

Maroon 5’s sophmore album, It Won’t Be Soon Before Long is scheduled for world wide release on May 22nd. This album follows their 2002 debut album Songs About Jane, which found its way up the Billboard top 200 chart to number #6 in August of ‘04.

The band says they’re holding off from touring till September ‘07, but are sheduled to perform along side the Police in Miami on July 10th. Read more…

Interpol In Canada

March 13th, 2007

Interpol has announced a mid-to-late April trek across Canada beginning in Ottawa, Ontario the 15th and ending in Vancouver, British Columbia the 25th. From there they make their way to Coachella on the 27th.

Presumably they will be introducing their fans to some new material from their yet-to-be-named album due in early summer 2007.

U2 & Green Day Taken Down by Westlife

The juggernaut possibilities of a U2-Green Day collaboration were taken down a peg as their cover of The Skids’ “The Saints are Coming” was outsold. Boy band Westlife’s cover of Bette Midler’s “The Rose” narrowly kept U2 & Green Day from debuting at number 1 on the UK charts. Read more…

The Freddie Mercury Movie

November 13th, 2006

A film documenting the life of charismatic Queen frontman Freddie Mercury is currently in the works. The surviving Queen members Brian May, Roger Taylor, and John Deacon are all involved.

Guitarist May explained, “There is a film in the pipeline and we’re all involved in it.
“I’m not allowed to say much about it and casting isn’t finalised but we’ve had some incredible offers to play Freddie. Really incredible.”

Tenacious D Premieres on YouTube

The first six minutes of Tenacious D’s new film, Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny, has been posted on YouTube.com. Opening with a cartoon full of fart jokes and cameos by Meatloaf and Ronnie James Dio, the movie promises to be as rocktacular (or, perhaps, rocktastic?) as the duo itself. Check it out:
