Beale Street Music Festival Announces 2014 Lineup

The Beale Street Music Festival (BSMF) is kicking off Memphis in May for the 38th time this year. The festival is predicted to be one of the top 20 best music festivals of 2014 according to Fuse Magazine and the lineup will make anyone salivate. Memphis, Tennessee has hosted Memphis in May since 1977, but Beale street was a land mark long before that. In the 1800’s, African-American musicians would congregate to perform music on the street, and the movement made a lasting impact on the music culture in Memphis. It is now a haven for local and national musicians and artists and attracts visitors even when festivals aren’t being held.

The Memphis is May Festival lasts for a month and is divided into 4 events. The kickoff event is BSMF, a three day event from May 2nd – May 4th. BSMF hosts artists from all over the world, bringing all kinds of music, artwork, and cooking cooking to one place.

The festival will be held by the Mississippi River in downtown Memphis, Tennessee in Tom Lee Park. The park boasts 33-acres and will feature amazing stages, vendors and plenty of space to walk around. Tickets will be sold as single day passes with availability for 3-day VIP passes including a pass for the one of the biggest barbecue contests in the world.
