Morrissey’s live return hit a snag as his originally scheduled appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Wednesday night will not happen after learning the cast of the A&E duck hunting-based reality show Duck Dynasty are also appearing on the same evening.

Standing behind his beliefs for animal rights, he refused to appear with the Robertsons from Duck Dynasty and demanded them to be rebooked for another night.

According to the show’s website, the musical guest would be Churchill and not Morrissey.

He issued a statement in regards to the matter:

“Morrissey is thankful for being invited to perform on Jimmy Kimmel Live tomorrow, February 26.  However, he cannot morally be on a television program where the cast members of Duck Dynasty will also be guests. Morrissey would be honored to play the show, if Duck Dynasty were removed.

As far as my reputation is concerned, I can’t take the risk of being on a show alongside people who, in effect, amount to animal serial killers. If Jimmy cannot dump Duck Dynasty then we must step away.”

Morrissey has rescheduled his upcoming tour dates to be begin on February 27th in San Diego, CA. As part of his animal rights activism, it was reported that his upcoming show at the Staples Center in Los Angeles, CA would be serving 100% vegetarian and vegan food.
