Reunited Black Flag Announces New Studio Album
Legendary American punk band Black Flag are returning in 2013 with a brand new album following up 1985’s In My Head.
It is official, Black Flag is prepping the release of their first new studio album in twenty-eight years. Black Flag originally made headlines in the late 70s and became a large staple in the punk scene of the 80s. There have been many lineup changes, breakups and reunions over the years but this is the first time they are actually putting out a new album since 1985’s In My Head. The one consistent member of Black Flag is Gregg Ginn who is known as one of the most innovation guitarists of all time. Ginn will be fronting the band alongside singer Ron Reyes, Gregory Moore on drums and the pseudo Dale Nixon on bass. Nixon is technically not a real person. The name “Dale Nixon” was originally used by Gregg Ginn so he could avoid crediting himself on multiple instruments.
It is likely Black Flag will be touring this year. They are already announced to headline Tennessee’s Muddy Roots Music Fest and UK’s Hevy Fest.
