The gothic-Indie rock band is returning with their first album since 2009.mosquitos

The band Rolling Stone called, “the goth, the nerd and the slut” is returning this year with a brand new LP titled Mosquito. Mosquito will be released for the public on April 16th, 2013. This will be the band’s first new music since 2009’s critically acclaimed It’s Blitz. Fans can pre-order a deluxe album bundle here. Frontwoman Karen O described the album in a statement:

“We took a more playful, LO-FI approach to songwriting. … This record has more moodier and tripped-out songs than you’ve ever heard from us. You might catch some roots reggae and minimalist psychedelia influences in there.”

The Yeah Yeah Yeahs are set to play the Vive Latino festival and Australlia’s Big Day Out Festival this year and are expected to tour more. We will follow the story as tour dates are added.
