Watch: Val Kilmer Filmed On Stage with The Black Lips for Terrence Malick Movie

More actors have been spotted on stage with The Black Lips in Austin, TX. Is this more footage from Terrance Malick’s new film?

Last month Ryan Gosling and Rooney Mara were spotted on stage with The Black Lips during Austin City Limits. This was for Terrance Malick’s new film which surrounds a love triangle in the Austin, TX music scene. Consequence of Sound reports this last weekend The Black Lips had another guest on stage during their set at Austin’s Fun Fun Fun Fest: Hollywood’s Val Kilmer.

It appears the former Batman-star will appear in Malick’s new film. Kilmer was on stage, with cameras filming him, for about thirty minutes during which he smashed a guitar, kicked over a mic and cut off his own hair. You may also notice that Rooney Mara is on stage with Kilmer. So far the plot is fairly unknown so it is unclear how this will play in the feature film.

Terrance Malick has previously directed The Thin Red Line, The New World and last year’s The Tree of Life. He is notorious for cutting big scenes and actors out of his movies in the editing room so it is hard to say if these scenes will make the final movie.
