The soundtrack to the forthcoming Lawless movie featuring Shia Labeouf, Gary Oldman and Tom Hardy (aka Bane from Dark Knight Rises) has drawn much attention due to the film’s scoring by Nick Cave and Bad Seed and Dirty Three violinist Warren Ellis. But three songs featuring Mark Lanegan has drawn much interest.

The former Screaming Trees and Queens of the Stone Age vocalist is featured with the Bootleggers (ie Cave & Ellis) covering the Velvet Underground’s “White Light/White Heat”, Link Wray’s “Fire and Brimstone” and Captain Beefheart’s “Sure ‘Nuff ‘N Yes I Do.”

The soundtrack also features songs by Willie Nelson, Ralph Stanley on three songs, Emmylou Harris, and Lanegan covering songs by Townes Van Zandt, Grandaddy, Velvet Underground and Link Wray, amongst others.

Check out the songs below.
