Ariel Pink’s Former Drummer Sues Haunted Graffiti for $1 Million
As reported by The Entertainment Law Digest, Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti’s former drummer Aaron Sperske has filed a $1 million lawsuit against the band. He claims the band is violating an ”oral partnership” agreement established between band members in 2008 by failing to give him due royalties. Read more after the jump.
Sperske is claiming 25% ownership of the songs off Ariel Pink’s Haunted Graffiti’s forthcoming release, Mature Themes. Since he wrote the songs together with Pink (Ariel Rosenberg), Tim Koh, and Kenny Gilmore, he feels properly ”entitled to profits from royalties and future shows.” Sperske filed the case on August 12 in Los Angeles, though it is currently unclear how he will be compensated for his contributions.
Mature Themes is scheduled for release on August 21 in the U.S. and August 20 in the UK via 4AD.
