Metric has officially released their new single “Youth Without Youth”, which is available for purchase at at their website and on iTunes. Pre-orders of their forthcoming CD Synthetica (MMI/Mom + Pop) is also available at ilovemetric.com. Every pre-order comes with an immediate download of “Youth Without Youth” and five Synthetica Reflections tracks. An iTunes pre-order of Synthetica is also available now and can immediately download “Youth Without Youth” (but you’ll have to wait until June 12th to get the five Synthetica Reflections tracks).

For the past week, Metric had been sharing clues with fans about “Youth Without Youth, the first single from Synthetica. Mysterious video footage of the band from the recording studio, Emily Haines and Jimmy Shaw speaking of the making of the song, and fan interpretations of “Youth Without Youth” after the song’s lyrics and sheet music were unveiled before the song’s release. Metric has announced an extensive US tour for this fall.
