Fans can expect both a tribute album and a book in celebration of Talk Talk’s 30th anniversary. Though the British synth-pop band hasn’t been around for quite some time, these releases should spark the interest of old and new fans alike.  As reported by Pitchfork, both the album and book will have a host of noteworthy collaborators.  More details after the jump.

Talk Talk’s cover art creator and illustrator, James Marsh, is releasing a limited edition book this spring called Spirit of Talk Talk, that will contain all of the artwork he’s ever made for the band.  All copies of Spirit of Talk Talk will be signed by Marsh and will also include copies of hand-written lyrics and 80 contributions from long time Talk Talk fans, such as Arcade Fire’s Richard Reed Parry, late Pink Floyd member Richard Wright, Weezer’s Patrick Wilson, Jonathan Meiburg of Shearwater, Tom Fleming of Wild Beasts, Paul Hartnoll of Orbital, Karl Hyde of Underworld, former Depeche Mode member Alan Wilder, Elbow’s Guy Garvey, James Lavelle of UNKLE, and former Grandaddy frontman Jason Lytle.

On top of that, UK label Fierce Panda will release a Talk Talk tribute album on May 28 which will also be titled Spirit of Talk Talk.  The album will have cover songs by Arcade Fire’s Richard Reed Parry, Broken Social Scene’s Kevin Drew, Weezer’s Patrick Wilson, My Brightest Diamond’s Shara Worden, the Clientele, Jason Lytle, White Lies, Joan As Polic Woman, S. Carey, Lia Ices, and more.  Though Talk Talk may not still be around, this year will be big in the celebration of their legacy.
