Neil Young & Crazy Horse Announce New Album Americana for June 2012 Release

Neil Young and Crazy Horse will release their first album in almost nine years in June. The album, Americana, will feature covers of classic folk songs. Read more after the jump.

Neil Young and Crazy Horse have a long standing working relationship going back to 1969. In June they will release their first album together in nine years. The songs are going to be renditions of classic folk songs, some of which dating back to the 1800s. Some of the songs can be considered “protest songs” or “murder ballads” but all of them showcase an old time America. These songs may come from an America that doesn’t exist anymore but Neil Young and Crazy Horse intend to use these songs to bring out emotions that resonate with people today.
