Legendary hip-hop artists Cypress Hill and big name dustup DJ/producer Rusko have officially announced plans to release their collaborative effort, Cypress X Rusko sometime in April as a 5-song EP. Check out the tracklist and a free download of their first single, “Roll it, Light it” after the jump:-1

The EP was recorded over a six month period, with Rusko sending tracks via email to Cypress Hill during the times when his hectic touring schedule did not allow face-time in the studio.

Fans of the two genres won’t be hard pressed to find similarities between the two- Rusko’s trademark bone-shattering bass lines and anthemic melodies blend with the hip-hop veterans’ gutter-friendly lyrics and deep bass sounds that redefined early 90’s hip-hop.

“I think dubstep is a natural progression of hip-hop,” Sen Dog said in a recent press release. “Especially the way that we formulated it with Rusko, there’s definitely some roughness to it.”
