Watch: The Mars Volta Unveil Three New Songs Live in Europe
Two years after the release of Octahedron, The Mars Volta has all but stamped a title on their sixth studio album set to release in early 2012. Despite lacking a title, music for the album is polished enough for live performance to which the band has begun playing three new songs at The Circus in Helsinki.
Described by singer Cedric Bixler-Zavala as, “just future punk,” via his Youtube channel, the next album will see the band shed their more avant garde aesthetics. Though the three new songs, “I’m Not Running Away,” “Trinkets Pale The Room,” and “Walk The Plank,” still herald the bands truly unique musical vision, the composition and craft-work behind them sounds more raw and to the marrow of their musical tastes.
