Stream Two New Songs from Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi’s ROME Featuring Jack White and Norah Jones
Danger Mouse and Daniele Luppi recently confirmed May 17 as the release date for Rome, their forthcoming collaborative album which we covered late last year. Streams of two tracks from the album, “Black” featuring Norah Jones and “Two Against One” featuring Jack White, after the jump.
The concept for Rome came about in 2004, when Danger Mouse, aka Brian Burton, and Daniele Luppi, a reknowned Italian compser, met. Essentially, the album is a tribute to classic Italian film music from the 1960s and 70s, which reportedly heavily influenced Burton’s childhood.
A fifteen track epic, Rome features players from the scores of films such as The Good, the Bad and the Ugly and Once Upon A Time in the West, the legendary Jack White and Norah Jones. Highly acclaimed director and photographer Chris Milk, who has directed music videos for Green Day, U2, Kanye West, Gnarls Barkley and Arcade Fire, was also brought onboard as visual director.
Recorded in Rome at Forum Studios, originally known as Orthophonic Studios and founded by the legendary Ennio Morrcone, the album was tracked using vintage equipment. Burton and Luppi employed no computers or effects in Rome’s tracking and recorded the songs live to tape with no extraneous electronics.
