Death Cab for Cutie Set May 31 as Release Date for Codes and Keys
February 16th, 2011
Last June we reported Death Cab for Cutie (Atlantic Records) was in the studio tracking their new LP, and now we’ll get to hear the fruits of their labor on May 31 with the release of Codes and Keys, the group’s seventh full-length record.
Guitarist/producer Chris Walla recently told BBC radio host Zane Lowe that the first single will likely be a track called “You Are A Tourist.” The album is currently being mixed by Alan Mould (U2, Nine Inch Nails, The Killers).
The LP will reportedly be light on guitars and heavy on synths and assorted keyboard sounds. Some track names released thus far include “Monday Morning,” “Unobstructed Views,” and the title track.
