It’s been confirmed that Mountain Goats got the help of former Morbid Angel guitarist and current Hate Eternal frontman, Erik Rutan, on their upcoming album.

Rutan collaborated with the band on four tracks and they produced in his Florida studio.

John Darnielle, Mountain Goats’ frontman, has often talked of his love for death metal, but this is the first time he’s collaborated with such a metal icon.  Other collaborators on the new album include Superchunk drummer Jon Wurster, bassist Peter Hughes and engineer Brandon Eggleston.
