The Boss Announces Massive Box Set Release

Bruce Springsteen has announced details for the forthcoming box set “The Promise: The Darkness On the Edge of Town Story,” set for release Nov. 16 on Colombia Records. The set includes over six hours of film on 3 DVDs and two hours of music on 3 CDs. And there’s more…after the jump. Read more…

As a result of all the outstanding bands we saw, spoke with or covered at this year’s festival we decided to put something special together. Queens of the Stone Age Re-Release Debut Album

Yoko Ono / Plastic Ono Band to Perform at Orpheum Theatre

Yoko Ono and her Plastic Ono Band are set to perform at LA’s Orpheum Theatre Oct. 1 and 2. Today, Ono released a list of special guests that will perform alongside her. Among the performers will be Vincent Gallo, Izzy Pop, Lady Gaga and Sean Lennon, Ono’s only son with the late John Lennon. You will find the full list of guests in the image after the jump. Telekinesis Release EP & Kick Off Tour

Seattle’s indie sensation Telekinesis (Michael Benjamin Lerner and his live band) released their Parallel Seismic Conspiracies EP today on Merge Records. For a brief period as the Aughts drew to a close, a Eurodisco splinter cell formed in the southern hemisphere. New Zealand’s Ladyhawke and Australian acts like Van She, Cut Copy, The Presets, and Midnight Juggernauts, all with nurturing from the Modular record label, managed to loosen the Continental stranglehold on blog house and indie dance. Midnight Juggernauts may be first back to the record rack and download queue, but the results on their 2010 album The Crystal Axis might end up pretty far (if you will) down under those of their compatriots.
