We may see new material from Radiohead this year, at least according guitarist Ed O’brien. More info after the jump.

O’brien dropped the aforementioned piece of info on Adam Buxton’s Big Mixtape, a BBC radio show focused on all things music.

“Ideally, it’d be great if it came out sometime this year. It’s got to. I hope so,” O’brien told Buxton during the show.

He went on to add that though the record is currently not finished, the band expects to wrap production up within “a matter of weeks.”

Radiohead’s forthcoming release will serve as their first studio effort since 2007’s In Rainbows.  The band has reportedly been working on the record since July of 2009.
