Lauryn Hill To Perform Landmark Solo Debut – Updated
Lauryn Hill (Columbia Records) hasn’t released an album in eight years, but fans longing for any news from the talented hip hopstress can rejoice – Hill will be performing her classic album The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill at this year’s Rock the Bells in late August.
Hill’s solo debut, Miseducation was released to universal acclaim in 1998 and won five Grammy’s. Hill, who has purportedly been working on a new album for six years now, will headline each of the four dates on the festival’s tour.
In related news, A Tribe Called Quest will also be performing, as they did in 2008, though it’s rumored they too will be performing a full album. We’ll keep you posted.
Rock the Bells tour dates are the following:
8/21 – NOS Events Center – San Bernadino, CA
8/22 – Shoreline Amphitheater – Mountain View, CA
8/28 – Governors Island – New York, NY
8/29 – Merriweather Post Pavilion – Columbia, MD
UPDATE- According to an updated post over at URB, there have been no official plans for Hill to headline Rock the Bells or for her to perform Miseducation of Lauryn Hill. However, it has been confirmed that she will be performing at this year’s Harmony Festival.
