Gorillaz’s Albarn says Two Plastic Beach Sequels Possible

Gorillaz frontman Damon Albarn announced today, via an interview with NME, that the group recorded nearly 80 songs during the production of the group’s most recent album, Plastic Beach.  Due to the high volume of extra tracks, Albarn said that the group may eventually issue two sequels to Plastic Beach. Lala to Shut Doors, Issue Refunds

Liars Debut Video, Announce Tour Dates

New York noise punks Liars debuted a video today for the second single off of their current album Sisterworld entitled “The Overachievers.”  The video, directed by Liars guitarist Aaron Hemphill, depicts “a hyper realistic portrayal of the young and unaffected living in LA” according to Liars vocalist Angus Andrew. The Echo has frequently been the home of rock legends over the ages, and its chic atmosphere in contrast with its ramshackle appearance reflects that. Primary colored spots of light flash on the dance floor as dual disco balls illuminate a small room where people shuffle about impatiently awaiting live music. Karnivool/Fair To Midland: Live at The Troubadour April 17, 2010

A kind of Aussie influx converged for the evening’s support act at The Troubadour in West Hollywood on Saturday night. With the venue packed to the rafters, Australian band Karnivool blasted their way through a brief but memorable set. Setting out with the slow-started “Simple Boy,” the band proceeded to give the fans everything they wanted, playing a few hits from their 2009 LP Sound Awake. The set culminated with a resounding sing-a-long from the audience to fan favorite “C.O.T.E” from their 2005 debut, Themata. Read more…
