Massive Attack to Release New Music…Finally
Trip-hop defining trio-reduced-to-a-duo Massive Attack’s half-decade silence is now looking close to the end. October 5 will see the release of an EP titled Splitting the Atom. While the EP will contain 4 new songs, 2 of them will be in remixed form.
Here are both the album art and tracklisting, according to massiveattack.ie:
Splitting the Atom (ft. 3D, Daddy G and Horace Andy)
Pray For Rain (ft. Tunde Adebimpe from TV On The Radio)
Psyche [remix] ft. Martina Topley Bird
Bulletproof Love [remix] ft. Guy Garvey from Elbow
The word on Massive Attack’s fifth album is that is still to be mixed and on course for a January 2010 release. Often it has been called Weather Underground, but this has been only the working title. Presumably, this quartet of tracks will appear on the forthcoming full-length (”Psyche” and “Bulletproof” will probably be in non-remixed form). If anticipation is anything to gauge, 2010 could be this band’s year.
