Hank Williams III’s ASSJACK and “Damn” Band to Tour + Album
Hank William III’s latest creative project, ASSJACK is dropping their first album of “authorized” music on August 4, 2009, out on Curb Records. The death-metal self-titled will feature the songs “Redneck Ride,” “Wasting Away,” and “No Regrets,” among others. Hank III performed, wrote, and produced everything on the album and hopes the audience will include “cowboys, punks, metalheads, jocks, grandmas, and the average everyday person under the same roof.”
Kicking off a tour of cities east of the Mississippi and extending over into Europe, Hank III will be dividing the tour into two 45-minute sets–the first including music from last year’s psyche-country album Damn Right, Rebel Proud, and the second the new music from ASSJACK. Despite accusations of selling out or pissing off Hank Williams with his appeal to multiple musical spectrums, Hank III plans to say hello and reach out to the fans after every show. “We bring them all together under the same roof. That’s what makes us proud. That’s what makes it worth it at the end of the day.”
