The White Stripes hit the ground running this week, debuting at number 2 on the US Billboard Charts with their new album Icky Thump.

Selling 223,000 copies, Thump is the best debut in the Stripes’ career to date.

The week’s other notable debut came from Bon Jovi, whose new effort marked the first number debut on the charts for him since 1988.
